The primary responsibilities of LSCs include
(1) approving how funds and resources are allocated,
(2) developing and monitoring the annual school improvement plan, the Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP), and

The LSC is an elected group, made up of 6 parents, 2 teachers, 1 non-teaching staff representative, 2 representatives from the Hyde Park community, and the principal.
The LSC members serve two-year terms; the current term runs from July 2022 to July 2024.

Official agendas for each meeting are posted on the school’s website and/or on the front door of the school at 5335 S. Kenwood at least 48 hours prior to each meeting.
Our meetings are open to all MLA’s families, staff, and neighbors. We would love to have you attend! Public comment is always on the agenda and is an important part of each meeting. LSCs are subject to the Open Meetings Act. This means that the public has a right to know about all LSC meetings, that meetings are open to the public (exceptions are allowed in limited cases), and that all votes must be taken in public.
If you cannot attend an LSC meeting but have a question and/or topic you would like answered or addressed, please forward your question/topic 72 hours prior to each meeting to murraylanguageacademylsc@gmail.com. Appropriate LSC topics will be added to the agenda as time permits.
